Evaluation Of The Process Of Reactivity Of Polybutadiene Resin Terminated With Hydroxyl And Its Applications abstract

Hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene resin is used as a prepolymer in the preparation of propellant in the production of solid composite propellant in the defense industry. Today, the unique properties of this resin and its derivatives have significantly expanded the commercial applications of this resin. Hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) is a butadiene elastomer with an unsaturated hydrocarbon configuration that has wide applications in military and civilian industries. The presence of double bonds and hydroxyl end groups can be effectively used for chemical modification to various functional groups such as epoxy, urethane, urethane methacrylate, carboxylic acid, ester, amine, etc. Chemical modification of HTPB has an effect on energy, burning speed, cooking method and other characteristics, and the result of chemical modification of HTPB shows better properties compared to pure HTPB. There are two general methods to modify HTPB: one is to modify the main chain structure directly by introducing some functional groups, the other is to produce hybrids between HTPB and other repeating units. In this review, preparation, properties, chemical modification and applications are discussed in detail
