Passive Design Strategies For Hot And Humid Climate In Iran abstract

Architecture of traditional houses in Bandar Bushehr, located in the old structure of Bushehr province. In traditional Iranian architecture, attention to weather conditions has been of great importance and has significantly influenced the shape of the building. In this sense, valuable examples of residential architecture in the old structure of Bushehr were examined, which present the identity and climatic assets. The models, concepts, approaches, theories, structure, formation and spatial organization of these buildings are analysed with a climatic approach. The current research is descriptive and analytical and its studies were collected through a library-based method. The results of this research show that, although the direct application of the same elements and areas of ancient architecture to contemporary architecture is not enough, many principles observed in past architecture can be considered as and a model for the modern architecture of any city. Principles like the orientation of the buildings and the location of the spaces must be respected in all cases. By combining climate approaches from the past that are widely applicable today, local climate and architecture can be revived
