Advantages and disadvantages of CT scan in diagnosing Corona disease abstract

In X-ray (radiography), radiation is used to produce a 2-dimensional image. Usually in hospitals using fixed equipment by radiographers, they can also be done in portable devices. In CT scanning, a computer is used to merge 2-D X-ray images and convert them into a 3-D image. They require highly specialized equipment and are performed by a radiographer in a hospital. In ultrasound scans, high-frequency sound waves are used to produce images. These can be done in hospitals or other medical facilities such as a doctor's office. Recent research has shown that the sensitivity of CT scan to detect the Covid-19 infection is 98%. While the sensitivity of the RT-PCR method is 71%. In a study published in the radiology journal, CT scan of the chest was performed in addition to laboratory tests on more than 1000 patients to diagnose Corona disease. The results of this research indicated that CT scan should be used as a primary screening tool for the Corona virus. In general, in connection with diseases for which there is no specific medicine or vaccine, such as the infection caused by the virus that causes the Corona disease, it is necessary and vital to diagnose the disease in the early stages and quickly separate the infected person from the healthy population.
