Measuring students' attitudes towards marriage abstract

Introduction: Marriage is one of the most important events that happen in life, and in the lastfew years, due to the presence of more women in the society and having education and socialeconomic conditions, the negative attitude towards marriage has become very important. Thisresearch was conducted with the aim of students' attitude towards marriage.Methodology: The current research is a descriptive study, the statistical population of whichincluded 318 unmarried male and female students aged 18 to 30, who were included in the studyby census. The measurement criterion of the study was the standard questionnaire measuring theattitude towards marriage of Braten and Rosen and the demographic information questionnaire.After collecting the data, the data was entered into the system and analyzed with SPSS software.Findings: The average age of the subjects studied was 21.7 ± 3.27. The results of the presentstudy showed that 53.8% of the participants have a positive overall attitude towards marriage,and among them, the idealistic attitude had a higher priority (84.9%). Based on the results ofPearson's test, there was no significant relationship between demographic variables and thesubscales of attitude towards marriage. Also, the findings of the study showed that according tothe students, economic issues after, love, and commitment and moral commitment have the mostimportance among the variables of marriage criteria.Conclusion: Considering the importance of population growth and family health, it isrecommended to hold effective pre-marriage counseling sessions and take basic measures to improve the economic status of young people.
