A review paper on Piezoelectric nanocomposites abstract
In recent years, piezoelectric materials have been highly regarded due to their wide applications in transducers, actuators and sensors. Meanwhile, lead-based piezoelectric materials have become the most successful piezoelectric materials in practical applications due to their excellent electrical properties, but due to the toxicity of lead and its harm to human health and the environment, their use has limitations. Among lead-free piezoelectric compounds, sodium potassium niobate compound (KNN) has shown promising ferroelectric and piezoelectric dielectric properties. KNN-ZnO ceramic compound with high density (pth=95%), favorable microstructure, suitable dielectric and piezoelectric properties (K=875.12) was chosen as the ceramic phase for composite making (d33=125pC/N, D=0.01). On the other hand, polyvinylidene fluoride hexafluoropropylene polymer (PVDF-HFP) with favorable piezoelectric and mechanical properties was chosen as the polymer phase. In order to achieve special properties, the composition of polymer ceramic composites was made and the electrical behavior of these composites was evaluated.
