Strengthening the four language learning skills in schools abstract

Persian language is one of the factors of acquiring national identity, one of the most important elements of unification of the Iranian nation and one of the important tools in the teaching-learning process in elementary school, which, like any other educational process, is subject to a set of general principles, attention to which will facilitate children's learning and further regulate the activities of teachers and students. For many years, this misconception has been ingrained in the minds of many that elementary school children come to school only to learn reading and writing skills, while being content with these two pillars has caused the other two basic pillars of language to be forgotten, namely listening and speaking. It should be noted that in the present era, effective listening and good speaking have been recognized as the most important learning skills in human society. Using a descriptive-analytical method, this article proposes strengthening the four language learning skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) as a prerequisite for teaching composition, and while stating the goals and effective factors, it also presents practical suggestions in this regard. Of course, it is obvious that every teacher must provide a suitable language and communication model for his or her students by listening better, speaking better, reading fluently, and writing simply. By designing a dynamic and systematic educational program, he or she must also pay attention to individual differences, children's needs, climatic, environmental, and local characteristics, the level of parental literacy, access to books, magazines, and newspapers, and the family's economic status.
