Examining The Application Of Blockchain In The Internet Of Things From The Perspective Of Network And Data Security abstract
Blockchain technology has become a pivotal tool in enhancing the security of IoT-enabled critical infrastructures, addressing vulnerabilities such as outdated protocols and susceptibility to cyber threats, including DDoS attacks and data tampering. Despite significant advancements, existing solutions often fail to mitigate these challenges effectively, particularly in ensuring data integrity and reducing computational overhead.This study proposes a blockchain-based secure data dissemination architecture for IoT systems, focusing on intelligent data filtering mechanisms to optimize computational efficiency while enhancing security. By leveraging blockchain's decentralized and immutable framework, the architecture addresses key issues in IoT security, creating a robust system for data exchange and protection.The methodology includes experimental setups, real-world deployments, and simulations to evaluate performance metrics such as latency, throughput, resource utilization, and security effectiveness. Results demonstrate significant improvements in mitigating vulnerabilities, maintaining data integrity, and efficiently handling malicious activities. However, increased latency and resource demands under attack conditions highlight the need for further optimization.The findings confirm blockchain’s potential as a transformative solution for securing IoT infrastructures, offering enhanced protection against sophisticated cyber threats. Recommendations for future work include optimizing blockchain protocols, improving scalability, and employing edge computing to manage resource constraints. This research provides a foundation for developing secure, efficient, and scalable IoT networks to meet the demands of modern critical infrastructures in sectors like healthcare, energy, and smart cities.
