Investigating The Effects Of Cyclophosphamide, Doxorubicin Hydrochloride, Fluorouracil, And Etoposide On c-Myc Protein Expression In Cancer Cells abstract
Objective: This study uses in silico methods to investigate the interactions of four chemotherapy drugs—Cyclophosphamide, Doxorubicin, Fluorouracil, and Etoposide—with c Myc, a protein implicated in cancer progression. The goal is to assess their potential to modulate c-Myc activity, providing computational insights that could inform future experimental strategies for cancer treatment. Methods: Molecular docking simulations were performed using UCSF Chimera and PyRx software to evaluate the binding affinities of the drugs to c-Myc. Data for the c-Myc protein structure and the drug compounds were retrieved from the UniProt and PubChem databases. Results: The results indicated that the drugs showed varying binding affinities toward c-Myc. Notably, Doxorubicin and Etoposide exhibited stronger binding interactions than Cyclophosphamide and Fluorouracil, suggesting that they might have a more pronounced effect on c-Myc activity. Conclusion: These findings highlight the different affinities of the drugs for c-Myc, suggesting that Doxorubicin and Etoposide might have more substantial potential forinfluencing c-Myc activity in cancer therapies. Further studies, including in vitro and in vivo experiments, are needed to validate these interactions and explore their therapeutic relevance in cancer treatment.
