Enhancing Portland Cement Strength and Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions Using MOF-5 abstract

In recent years, growing interest has been observed in the exploration of innovative solutions aimed at enhancing the mechanical properties of cement while concurrently addressing environmental concerns. The utilization of Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) as a novel additive in cement formulations is delved into in this research, with the aim of augmenting its mechanical strength and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. The potential advantages of integrating MOFs into cement matrices are elucidated through a comprehensive investigation comprising a series of stress-strain tests and gas adsorption experiments. The effectiveness of MOFs in enhancing the sustainability and durability of cement-based materials is showcased through empirical evidence provided by systematically analyzing the performance of MOF-modified cement samples. Valuable insights into the role of MOFs as a promising additive for improving the overall performance and environmental profile of cement are offered by this research, contributing to the burgeoning field of sustainable construction materials.
