Business Intelligence Vendor Selection Based on BI Life Cycle: A Fuzzy AHP Approach abstract

Business Intelligence (BI) had attracted many professionals in fields of software and IT management; though there is no crystal clear definition of BI, however , it is related to set of processes and tools which transform raw data to actionable in formation to improve business performance. Selecting a competent BI vendor is being a confusing problem for corporations. In this paper a fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) model is developed for such a problem. First the methodology is introduced; then based on BI Life Cycle (BILC) a Fuzzy hierarchy is constructed. Selecting an appropriate vendor based on corporation BI stage of maturity and classified vendors, and the non-crisp result are advantages of this approach. Finally suggestions for future research are presented.
