Green Building: A Vision of Sustainability abstract
In recent years, the concept of sustainability has gained widespread attention across various fields. This heightened interest is driven by the goal of achieving sustainable development. Green Architecture, also referred to as 'sustainable architecture' or 'eco-friendly building,' encompasses the principles, methodologies, and aesthetic approaches of designing and constructing structures that prioritize environmental stewardship. This approach aims to reduce resource consumption throughout a building's life cycle — covering construction, use, and maintenance — while also minimizing ecological impact through reduced emissions, pollution, and waste. Designing and building energy-efficient and water-conserving structures often involves the use of new materials and the generation of waste, which can negatively affect health and the environment. To mitigate these impacts and create buildings that are both environmentally responsible and resource-efficient, it is crucial to implement and understand 'green building systems.' This paper seeks to address these challenging and multifaceted sustainability issues, which touch on nearly every aspect of modern life.
