The effect of biopriming (Trichoderma fungus) and seed coating with nano-chelate on seedling length and dry weight in two quinoa cultivars abstract

Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Wild.) is an annual plant from the Amaranthaceae family, which has been cultivated for thousands of years in South America. Seed pre-treatment (Priming) is one of the solutions that the seeds get ready for germination physiologically and biochemically when faced with environmental environmental conditions, which includes hydropriming, osmopriming, hormopriming, halopriming, and biopriming. To investigate the effect of biopriming (trichoderma fungus) and seed coating with nano-chelate on the length and dry weight of seedlings of two quinoa cultivars, an experiment was conducted in the form of a completely randomized basic design in four replications in the Laboratory of Seed Science and Technology of Mohaghegh Ardabili University in 2024. was executed. The experimental treatments included pre-treatment at three levels (control, biopriming, and seed coating) and quinoa cultivars (TT Kaka and Giza). The results showed that the highest seedling length and dry weight were observed in the seeds inoculated with Trichoderma fungus in the Giza variety. The Giza variety was 26.12% longer than the Ti Ni Kaka variety. Also, the dry weight of the Giza variety was 43.15% higher than the TT Kaka variety. Also, Trichoderma fungus increased seedling length by 36.58% and dry weight by 46.25% compared to the control treatment. According to the results of this research, it can be concluded that biopriming with Trichoderma fungus in Giza cultivar improves the germination characteristics and growth of seedlings by increasing the vigor of seeds and seedlings.
