Examining the Potential of the Metaverse in Iran's E-Commerce Sector abstract
This paper explores the potential of the Metaverse to transform Iran's e-commerce sector. Given its rapid global growth, the research investigates how the integration of the Metaverse with e-commerce can create new opportunities for Iranian businesses and consumers. The study employs a multi-faceted approach, including theoretical frameworks, case studies from other countries, and an analysis of Iran's current e-commerce landscape. One key benefit of Metaverse integration is enhanced customer engagement, offering immersive, personalized shopping experiences. The Metaverse can also break down geographical barriers, enabling Iranian businesses to reach a global audience and expand their markets. Additionally, it allows for the creation of new digital products and services, such as virtual fashion. However, the study highlights challenges to adoption, including the need for advanced technological infrastructure, like high-speed internet and virtual reality technologies, as well as regulatory issues related to virtual transactions, digital ownership, and data privacy. Cultural and social acceptance will depend on how well the Metaverse aligns with local values. The paper offers policy recommendations, such as investing in infrastructure and developing regulatory frameworks, while also emphasizing the importance of Iran's economic and political context in the successful integration of the Metaverse.
