New approach and stylistics of Iranian architecture

In Iran, although this concept has entered the scientific discussions in the field of architecture for about half a century, its definitions and functions have not yet been formulated. The history of stylistics research shows that stylistics as an approach in the study of architectural history has various functions, one of its most important functions is as a classification method in architectural history, which due to the validity of its definitions, its multifacetedness and its comprehensiveness in terms of the ability to cover several The method of dealing with different aspects of architecture in its operational definition and finally its flexibility in operationalization according to the purpose of stylistics, introduces it as a suitable method. With this belief, this article has tried to explain the concept of architectural stylistics and to propose a new approach with the concern of architectural preservation and restoration based on the basics of stylistic studies. For this purpose, firstly, the types and characteristics of research methods in the field of architecture have been identified, and to choose the appropriate method and approach, after identifying the type of research problem, it has been studied its genealogy, and then according to the goals and nature of the problem, a method and approach has been chosen.
