Analyzing the Necessity of Designing a Peace Museum in Southern Iran abstract
The leading causes of violence and its impact on victims are often attributed to factors such as ignorance, wastefulness, the desire for fame, and a strong attachment to cultural traditions. Proper education about these phenomena helps eliminate their sinister and irreparable effects on people's lives. Therefore, fostering coexistence, promoting international understanding, and advancing peace through global peace education projects, coupled with a sense of shared responsibility and political-cultural participation, prevent further conflicts and pave the way for a peaceful and harmonious creation. Peace museums are exhibitions that educate people about peace, its meaning, and how to achieve it. They constitute a significant part of peace education, complementing peace movements, lectures, peace research, collaborations, and classroom training courses. However, the concept of a peace museum has yet to gain widespread recognition. Consequently, this article explores the concepts of peace, the peace museum's foundation based on audience reception and museum media, and the functional plan for the peace museum. This research highlights the necessity of analyzing climatic, human, and physical characteristics when considering the construction of a peace museum in southern Iran.
