**Comparison of Traditional and Active Teaching Methods in Enhancing Student Motivation and Participation** abstract

**Education as one of the main pillars of individual and social development has always been influenced by various teaching methods. In this article, two main approaches in education, namely traditional teaching and active teaching, are comprehensively examined. Traditional teaching, which refers to teacher-centered methods and one-way transmission of information, is recognized as a classic model in educational systems. While this method provides structure and order for learning, it may lead to a lack of engagement and active participation among students, potentially hindering the development of their social skills and critical thinking.** **In contrast, active teaching emphasizes student participation in the learning process, promoting interaction and collaboration in the classroom. This approach enables students to strengthen their critical thinking and social skills through problem-solving and group activities. However, implementing active teaching may require more time and resources and can pose challenges in classroom management.** **This article also explores the strengths and weaknesses of each method and suggests that teachers can create a dynamic and effective learning environment by combining these two approaches. For example, using direct instruction alongside group activities or integrating modern technology with traditional methods can lead to deeper and more engaging learning experiences.**
