Comparative study of clinical and laboratory indicators of influenza and COVID-19 in children hospitalized in Ganjavian Hospital, Dezful City, Iran, in 2021-2022 abstract

Influenza and Corona are two contagious viral diseases. The type of clinical symptoms and their severity are different in different people and at different ages. And they show a range of systemic, respiratory, digestive, cardiac and nervous symptoms. Often, the clinical symptoms and laboratory indicators of these two viruses are similar to each other in a way that makes it difficult to differentiate them, but there are also differences in the severity of symptoms and the type of symptoms and laboratory indicators. The Covid-19 virus is a type of respiratory virus from the coronavirus family. This study showed that the similarities between covid and influenza in children are more than their differences, so advanced tools such as PCR and diagnostic kits are needed for definitive diagnosis.
