Abstract:

In this study, the hydraulic conductivity of illite and kaolinite clay modified with polypropylene fibers was investigated. For this research, polypropylene fibers were mixed with illite and kaolinite clay separately at different weight percentages (۰.۵%, ۱%, ۲%, and ۴%) and tested accordingly. After comparison and analysis, the sample of illite clay modified with ۲% polypropylene fibers and the sample of kaolinite clay modified with ۱% polypropylene fibers were found to be more effective in altering hydraulic conductivity compared to other samples. These fiber percentages were determined to be the optimal values for these two types of clay.
