Abstract:
In this research, considering the importance and application of rare earth elements (REEs) and the suitability of the hydrometallurgical process in extracting these elements, the leaching of the rare earth element Ce from apatite concentrate obtained from Chadormalu iron ore wastes by hydrochloric acid was studied. The effect of hydrochloric acid concentration on Ce recovery was studied using ICP-OES analysis. The results showed that acid concentration at a constant S/L ratio had a significant effect on leaching efficiency, while the time parameter had a lesser effect. The highest leaching efficiency for Ce was ۹۴.۱۹% under optimal conditions with a hydrochloric acid concentration of ۳۷%, S/L ratio of ۱:۹, and a leaching time of ۶۰ min.
