Abstract:

This paper investigates the integration of wireless power transfer (WPT) systems into architectural design, with a specific focus on aesthetic considerations in both residential and public spaces. As wireless charging technologies evolve and proliferate across consumer electronics, electric vehicles, and smart environments, their seamless inclusion in the built environment is becoming a design priority. The study emphasizes that the primary aesthetic contribution of WPT lies in its potential for invisibility—eliminating visual clutter caused by cables and outlets while enhancing spatial harmony. Drawing on principles of minimalist design, material responsiveness, and user-centered architecture, the paper explores how wireless charging can be embedded within furniture, surfaces, and urban infrastructure to achieve a visually integrated, calm, and intuitive user experience.Key challenges discussed include electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure, heat dissipation, alignment precision, material compatibility, and data privacy—each of which has both technical and aesthetic implications. Through analysis of various WPT technologies (inductive, resonant, capacitive, RF, and laser-based), the paper compares trade-offs between visual invisibility and functional performance. The study also highlights the role of smart materials—such as transparent conductive glass and self-healing concrete—in advancing sustainable and adaptive architectural aesthetics.Aesthetic integration is examined not merely as a design feature, but as an ethical and experiential imperative. Issues of equity, accessibility, and privacy are addressed through the lens of universal design, ambient intelligence, and privacy-by-design frameworks. Ultimately, the paper proposes that wireless charging systems should be designed not as isolated devices but as embedded architectural elements that support both environmental responsibility and emotional well-being. In this vision, technology dissolves into the background, creating responsive environments where invisibility, trust, and sustainability define a new paradigm of aesthetic experience in smart architecture.
