Abstract:

This article deals with the design and simulation of a partial admission axial hydro-turbine, which is one of the types of modern axial flow turbines for converting the mechanical energy of water into electrical energy. Geometry of turbine includes Nozzle-Duct-Diffuser flow channel, ۳- rotary sections of rotors and ۴-stage stators. By choosing the airfoil Cp-۱۸۰-۰۵۰-gn for rotors and simulating the airfoils of the stators, in three different angles of attack at the outlet of the nozzle, between the rotor sections inside the duct, and at the inlet of the diffuser, with Ansys Fluent software, the hydrodynamic characteristics of the rotors and stators in each stage were simulated. A dynamic mesh is used for simulating the rotating of the rotor sections. The hydrodynamic loads, velocity and pressure distribution of each stage compared with their previous stages. The results show, the difference between the static pressure of the first rotor section and the third section is ۹۴%. It was concluded that maximum three stages for rotor section and ۱۸ blades in each rotary section is sufficient.
