Abstract:
In this study a new inhibitor that can be used instead of Hydrazine, , has been investigated and Levoxine_15 is introduced for oxygen corrosion prevention in steam tanks. These are faced pitting corrosion in both operational and in standby period. Also by keeping the range of Levoxine_15 in 0.5 in steam tanks, no allergenic signs have been reported by the workers during 2 years. Experiments are showed that pH controlling in range of 10-10.5 and 11-12 prevents local corrosion effectively in standby and service steam tanks, respectively. Also prevention from global corrosion is possible in pH range 9- 9.5.The alkalinity of system is increased, when the temperature of water reaches to 70 and Levoxine_15 is used as inhibitor therefore it’s beneficial cost to save money.Using of Levoxine_15 as inhibitor no chronic effects have been reported by personnel during this study which was held 2 years.
