Abstract:
Water is an environmental problem arising from industrial activities. Advanced filtration techniques, including the use of nanomaterials and polymers, are being developed. Polymer nanocomposites have high pollutant adsorption capabilities and are used in various process conditions. The graphene nanostructure provides a high surface area for the adsorbent to adsorb pollutants. Studies on nanocomposites have shown that increasing the surface area of pollutants and the amount of adsorbent improves the adsorption of cationic and anionic dyes. In this study, polymer/graphene nanocomposite was investigated as an adsorbent. The effect of changing the type of adsorbent, adsorbent amount, pH and time on the adsorption of colored pollutants on the nanocomposite was reviewed. The results of this review showed that the adsorption capacity increases with increasing the amount of pollutants. Increasing the amount of adsorbent increases the removal efficiency. The results are compared with Langmuir models and other isotherms for experimental fitting.
