Somatic embryogenesis derived from embryo of the seed Ferula(Ferula ovina Boiss.) abstract

There were some difficulties for several wild plants to reproduce in the farm or natural habitat. This study was done to investigate possibility and evaluating the histological stages of somatic embryogenesis of Ferula ovina by using tissue culture. Methods and Materials: Various explants were exposed to some concentrations of Auxin and Cytokinin on Murashige and Skoog medium. After 60 days embryogenic callus were evaluated. Results: From different explants which were studied, seed embryo could be able to make embryogenesis calluses. Auxin hormone increased amount of embryogenesis significantly. Embryogenic callus which produced in Murashige Skoog medium containing of 0.5 (mg/L) α-Naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) and 0.5(mg/L) N6- Benzyladenine (BA), had the largest amount of production. Based on the results, somatic embryogenesis in vitro by using the Ferula (Ferula ovina) seed embryo is possible. Histological investigations of embryogenic callus confirmed that there are different stages of embryonic. This electronic document is a live template.
