Abstract:
This research tested all specifications of synthesized biodiesel according to ASTM. The biodiesel is mixed with conventional diesel at different blends named B۰, B۱۰, B۲۰, and B۳۰. Those blends specifications fuel are investigated and results are tabled. The variable compression ratio, single cylinder, water cooled, and compression ignition engine utilized to study the effect of algae biodiesel - diesel blends on engine performance and its exhaust emission constituents. No hardware modification required and directly injected the blends in the combustion chambers. The experimental investigation showed that B۱۰ enhance the brake thermal efficiency more than other blends. The variations of volumetric efficiency results are marginally changed. Brake specific fuel consumption is increased with biodiesel ratio increasing as the exhaust temperature also. The hydrocarbon emissions and nitrogen oxides both are reduced significantly while there were sensible increasing in CO and HC. Finally, this work results recommended to use the algae biodiesel as clean and substitution fuel.
