The Effect of Rate of Expeansion on the Nucleainng Steam in a Supersonic Lavel Nozzle abstract
This paper describes a theoretical study of the self-condensation non-equilibrium wet steam during supersonic expansion in a convergent/divergent nozzle . Nucleation and droplet growth theories have been combined with the equations of one-dimensional gas dynamics and the system integrated mumerically on a computer. Effect of divergent angle on the rate of expansion and the rate of nucleation has the rate nucleation has been investigated and the total lost work has been calculated. Results show that by increasing the divergent angle, rate of expansion increases and the location of pressure rise comes near to the throat. Also local entropy generation increases by increasing the rate of expansion.
