Abstract:
Micro silica is a high purity commercial substance made up of oxide silicon particles. With special attention which scientists and researchers of the concrete industry have had this material, today it is used as a filler and to improve the specification physical and mechanical properties of concrete, such as compressive strength, flexural strength, permeability and structural modification, are used. This chemical with its micrometric size reduces the volume of concrete cavities and their mean diameter and the porous concrete structure it subsequently improves the permeability and absorption of concrete water. Microsilica also accelerates the reaction cement hydration, especially in the early ages of concrete cementation. In his research, Wilfried showed that the use of Microsilica in concrete reduces the absorption of concrete water and contributes to the coherence of concrete structures.
