Abstract:
Background and Aim: Neuroscience provided new opportunities and insights for educational knowledge and practice improvement. Methodological and language differences between two disciplines made some doubt in their connection, but prevalence of neuromyths among teachers and usage of brain-based information is treated more than other factors for emergence connection. Methods: ۴۹۹ preservice teacher form ۶ centers of farhangian University located in Tehran by a proportional stratified sampling participated in survey using Dundar and Gunduz questionnaire (۲۰۱۶). A descriptive- survey methodology was used. Data analysis was on the base of answers frequencies, percentages, and one sample t test. Results: The study investigates the prevalence neuromyths among the pre-service teachers in Farhangian University and aims at comparing the findings with some other countries. Conclusion: the most popular neuromyths among the respondents were identified. According to the findings of this study some strategic actions for preventing and encountering with neuromyths are suggested.
