Abstract:

Background and Aim: The sports training potential of rope jumping has long been under estimated. The jumping rope training are one of the exercises to improve motor skills in children and adolescents. Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, pre-test and post-test design with three groups and cluster sampling method were used. The study sample consisted of ۶۰ children aged ۱۰-۱۲ years in Miandoab city in three groups including: ۲۰ with rope training group without music, ۲۰ with music rope group and ۲۰ in the control group. Research participants completed the tests once in the pre-test and again in the post-test with ۳۰ sessions of training. For assessment of static balance test, we used to Flamingo Balance Test (FBT) and for Perceptual-motor integration used Beery- Buktenica Developmental Test of Visual-Motor Integration (VMI) test were used. After data collection, the Shapiro-Wilk test was used to determine the natural distribution of the data. According to the normality of the data distribution, using mixed analysis of variance (۳×۲) at the significant level of ۰.۰۵ and SPSS۲۳ software. Results: The purpose of the present study was to investigate ۳۰ sessions of jumping rope training with and without music on balance and perceptual-motor integration of ۱۰-۱۲ years old children. Conclusion: The results of mixed analysis of variance showed that interaction of group in train for all three factors were significant: right static balance (F (۲,۵۷) = ۱۰.۳۲۸, P= ۰.۰۰۰۱), left static balance (F (۲,۵۷) = ۲۸.۵۷, P=۰.۰۰۰۱) and perceptual-motor integration (F (۲,۵۷= ۶.۲۹, P= ۰.۰۰۳). The jumping rope training showed more improvement with the music. Based on the results and Gallahue's hourglass model, it can be said that jumping rope training with music (change at task) has more effect on some of the motor and cognitive factors in children. Therefore, it is suggested to use jumping rope training with music in schools for children.
