Abstract:

Background and Aim: Transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) is a non-invasive brain stimulation method. Methods The statistical population included all students of Azarbaijan Shahid Madani University. A total of ۲۴ study subjects were selected and randomly divided into two groups of intervention and sham containing ۱۲ subjects each. Intervention group received Transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) at a frequency of ۱۳ Hz over Fz and Pz, for ۱۰ session, ۲۰ min per session. Sham group received sham stimulation over the same location. Reaction time was evaluated by reaction time machine. Results: The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of beta-۱-band induction on selective reaction time in healthy subjects. Conclusion: Data analysis revealed statistically significant differences between intervention and sham groups for selective reaction time (p<۰.۰۱). Indeed, intervention group had shorter reaction time than sham group. Our findings indicate the positive effect of beta-۱-band tACS (۱۳ Hz) on selective reaction times.
