Models for the Representation of the Lateral Stress – Strain Relationship of the Soil, Applied to the Calculation of Lateral Stress and the Design of Contention Structures abstract
in research work the lateral stress-strain relationship of the land is studied. Four models are presented to estimate the lateral strain of the soil in function of the stress. The first model is a simple theoretical proposal based on the theory of the lineal elasticity, the other three models are based on the laboratory experienece: Twice of these consider the oedometer behavior of the soil and the other one is based on their behavior in triaxial compression and extension. the models are of easy calibration. these allow to evaluate the interaction between the land and the structure of contention of the lateral forces induced by the land.
