Synthesis of anti-wear TiC-Fe nanocomposite coating in-situ on steel by laser cladding abstract
Laser cladding is a reliable technique in produce for in-situ particulate reinforced metal matrix anti-wear and composite coating particularly. The titanium and graphite as clad nanopowder are mixed together and then activated by balmier equipment to synthesis TiC reinforced Fe-based nanocomposite coating on medium carbon steel by CO2 laser beam in continues wave mode. The coated TiC structure and formation mechanism on the substrate were studied. The in-situ metallurgical reaction prepared a formation TiC-Fe nanocomposite through optothermal effect. Finally, the wear tests showed the enhancement of wear resistance of the coating properly.
