Abstract:
The customers of today's global networked economy have higher demands and expectations from their financial institutions. Online banking greatly increases the convenience of banking services especially by making many services accessible virtually anywhere. In the current population there are significant numbers that are visually impaired. Web is information medium, but too many web designers still think of it as a purely visual medium, and are unaware even that visually impaired people can access the web. These people tend to be excluded from use of the World Wide Web as a mechanism by which services and facilities are provided. -This matter is of so much concern that governments and specialised bodies such as Royal National Institute for Blind (RNIB) have produced recommendations. This paper reports on the eAccessibility
level of online banking services. The accessibility test was conducted according to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 1 .O) Checkpoints of Priority 1, 2 and 3 by W3C using Bobby. The research identified that despite standards set by the international agencies, many websites still fall short of accessi bility.
