Multistage Choke Valves abstract

Choke valves are extensively used in the offshore oil industry where they regulate the flow of hydrocarbon fluids from the oil wells. In addition to this function they are also used to reduce the wellhead pressure. Solid particle erosion from sand particles entrained in the hydrocarbon fluids is one of the major causes of failure of these components. This article reviews the multistage choke valves action and properties as a suitable choice for conventional chokes.
