Utilizing GIS to locate the best sites for planning pistachio in Neyriz.

Pistachio as a permanent crop can be effected by different climatology factors andcombination of this factors lead to best planting location. These climatology factors are weather,water, soil and physiography.If we choose mentioned factors correctly we will have a crop with high quality and quantitywith the minimum damage caused by these factors. One of the instruments that can help us tolocate the best site for planting pistachio is using GIS (Geographical Information System) program.In this paper we present how we could develop and combine layers and eventuallypresenting the best sites for pistachio production in this region. This model can be used for otherregions to decide the best locations for planting species or even replacing the orchards by betterspecies.
