A Critique of Logics for Authentication in Formalizing Belief abstract
Logics for authentication such as BAlV logic, SVO logic and AT logic, are some common formal approaches to verifL authentication in cryptographic protocols. The concept of belief plays a significant role in all of these Logics. In this paper, we focus on this significant role of the concept. We then compare and analyze the way each of these logics deal with the concept, and criticize formalizing belief in SVO and AT logics. We perform this criticism by introducing an aspect which BAN respects, but SVO and AT do not.
