Abstract:
This study numerically investigates the impact of spiral turbulator (ST) on the thermal performance of a double pipe heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is solved for different models. Velocities are considered0.01, 0.015, 0.02, 0.025, and 0.03…up to 0.085m /s. Also the temperature of outer wall was supposed to be constant. It was solved for both laminar and turbulent flow. The results of CFD simulation is validated with practicalequations. The results indicate that using ST could be effective in augmenting heat transfer at double pipe heat exchangers
