THE EFFECTE OF SPENT MUSHROOM COMPOST (SMC) ON GROWING AND FLOWERING NARCISSUS PESUDONARCISSUS

Narcissus spp. is in amarilidaceae family. Narcissus is an important gardening plant and use for potted plant and is cultivated on green space (Sochacki and Orlikowska, 2005) .production of plants in media container is very public in green house industry. We can use SMC after the renewed composting process as a corrective of soil and organic fertilizer in agriculture and Horticulture. Production of this type of fertilizer ,does not require High cost. So it can as a suitable Organic fertilizer for agriculture and horticulture(Maher, 2000). The purpose of this research is checking and study of SMC, on length of leaves , number of leaves, dry weight and wet weight of leaves and flowering time of Narcissus pesudonarcissu.MATERIALS AND METHODSthe experiment is done in form of Randomized complete block with 11 treatment and 3 replications in Islamic Azad University Research Greenhouse .Eleven top treatment included : peat moss ,coco peat , SMC and mixture of this treatment plus witness soil (texture of clay loam) .we use pots(the size 3lit) for plantin bulb. The parameters measured in this study included: length of leaves , number of leaves, dry weight and wet weight of leaves and flowering time of narcissus. Staticifical analysis is done SAS software and compration of average of data with test of Duncan in 5% probable level.RESULTS AND DISCUSSION The result show that , the earliest time for flowering (134 day) is in coco peat media(2) + SMC (1) and the longest time for flowering (137 day) is in coco peat media. We have got the most length of leaves, the most number of leaves and dry weight and wet weight of leaves in this media: cocopeat (1)+SMC (2). Thus, spent mushroom compost due to organic matter, water retention and most importantly, low cost of production, it is suitable for flowers such as Narcissus pesudonarcissus
