Abstract:

The aim of this work is evaluation of the performance of nanocomposite ceramic membranes in permeation of major whey proteins. For this mean, at first the ceramic supports were made of alumina and after the modification of supports surface through multi-stage coating using submicron and nanometric -alumina powders, ZrO2-TiO2 nanocomposite top layer were coated on the modified supports. Mercury porosimetry results showed that pore size distribution innanocomposite membrane top layer was in nanometric scale. Performance evaluation of the prepared nanocomposite ceramic membranes showed that these membranes have suitable selectivity for the permeation of the -La protein relative to -La protein with suitable quality of the proteins in pH 8 and temperature equal to 50 ºC.
