Abstract:
Continuous catalytic regeneration (CCR) is one of the key processes in petroleum refineries for octane improvement and production of aromatic feedstock for petrochemical industries. Typical CCR reforming processes consist of three to four reactors with recycle. The reaction patterns andreactors have been mathematically modelled by using MATLAB software. The process model isbased on a 12-lumped kinetics reaction network and has been proved to be quite effective in termsof an industrial application. The naphtha is based on 25-lumped pseudo components including C6to C9 hydrocarbons in three categories of paraffin, naphtha, and aromatics. Simulation and modelling with process constraints is noticeable and has profitable applications for kinetic model to improve the process performance and maximize unit profitability. The simulation and modelling results of the model which have been validated for industrial CCR process will be presented.
