Abstract:
Exergy and Exergoeconomic analyses have been carried out for product recovery and separation systems of natural gas plant as well as the refrigeration system required for the plant. The exergetic costs and thermoeconomic costs of all process and utility streams have been calculatedthrough a systematic method of assigning exergetic cost relations to streams. The results indicatethat exergetic efficiencies of theDebutanizer, the Depropaniser, and the Deethaniser columns arethe lowest. Distillation columns have 64 % of total exergy loss which is the maximum valueamong the system components. In the second place, heat exchangers have 15% of exergy loss. Next there are compressors and expanders which have 13 and 6 % exergy loss, respectively. It should be noted that the expander has been replaced by a choke valve for energy saving purposes
