Evaluation of different media culture and pH on growth parameters of Fusarium wilt of tomato

The aim of this study was to evaluate the different media culture and pH on growth parameters of causal organism of tomato wilt. The study was made in R.B.D. with eight replicates. Out of four different media studied Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici grew well on Czapek Dox Agar (CDA) followed by Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) media. The maximum radial growth of tested pathogen was observed after 168hrs of incubation period by producing 34.80 mm. Whereas, the minimum growth of pathogen was recorded in Carrot Agar (CA) with 4.70 mm in the same time of incubation period. Only after 168hrs of inoculations on CDA and PDA sporulation of pathogen was occurred. It required optimum temperature of 24 ± 2ºC and pH of 6 for the growth and sporulation of tested pathogen. The maximum sporulation of pathogen was recorded at pH 6 after 144hrs of incubation period. No spore formation was occurred at pH 4 and 8 even after 144hrs of incubation period.
