Abstract:
In language learning and teaching history, most attempts were done to identify and apply the bestand most effective method and technique for transferring subject knowledge to the learners. In1995 Daniel Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence theory suggested the importance role of emotionson efficient mental or cognitive processing and argued that emotion mind is far quicker than therational mind. This controversial view introduced a rather novel factor in education domainHowever, in recent decades an interest toward this subject has increased and some specialists andresearchers carried out a few works related to this domain. In this paper various models ofemotional intelligence reviewed. In addition, The role of Emotional Intelligence in educationsystem especially in EFL context was examined by some researchers. The researchers attemptedto determine this role among different participants in various contexts. Consequently, theobtained result from most of them indicated the vital role of EFL teachers’ emotional intelligenceon their performance and success.
