SYNTHESIS OF OXIMES USING NANO MAGNESIUM OXIDE IN GREEN MEDIA

In recent days various techniques have been used in synthesis of organic and inorganic compounds which are harmless to environment under the name Green chemistry. Nano MgO efficiently catalyzes conversion of various carbonyl compounds to the corresponding oximes with NH2OH.HCl in ethanol. The reactions were carried out at room temperature conditions to afford oximes in high to excellent yields within a short time, simple and non-polluting procedure. In this context, MgO is very useful as it is cheap in general, commercially available, safe, and non-toxic, hence easy to handle
