Abstract:
Metal-organic frameworks have received much attention in recent years especially as newlydevelopedporous materials. They possess a wide array of potential applications including materials for gasstorage,gas/vapor separation, catalysis, luminescence, and drug delivery. In the present study, a drug-loaded metal–organicframework (MOF) was accomplished at room temperature. The produced drug-loaded MOF [{Cu2(1,4-bdc)2(dabco)}n]was then studiedas a drug delivery system and exhibited the ability to entrap ibuprofen model drug. The MOF wascharacterized by IR spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), N2adsorption porosimetric (BET).
