Abstract:
Nano composite of Hap/NaY adsorbents were synthesized were used for the removal of Pb2+ and Cd2+ from aqueous solution. The properties of this adsorbent were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, TGA and SEM. Experiments were carried out to investigate influence of different sorption parameters, such as contact time, initial pH, initial metal concentration, dose of adsorbent and temperature. The pseudo-second order kinetic model was found to provide the best correlation of the used experimental data. Furthermore, the equilibrium data are analysed by isotherm models. The results indicate that the Hap/NaY can be used as an efficient adsorbent for the removal of metal ions from aqueous solution.
