Abstract:

The platinum-based chemotherapeutic drug cisplatin plays an effective role in the treatment of solid tumours. However, it has limitations such as poor bioavailability, severe dose-limiting side effects and rapid development of drugresistance. Nowadays, scientists have attended to nanotechnology with the great enthusiasm because of its potential tobe applied in various fields such as drug delivery. Drug delivery systems in nano scale can help us to decrease side effectsof various drugs and their increase efficiency using liposomes, niosomes, and PBCA. PBCA is one of the most importantnanocarriers because of its small size and simplicity of synthesize. In this work, cisplatin loaded on PBCA nanoparticleswas synthesized by miniemulsion. Sizer, size distribution and zeta potential for Blank PBCA nanoparticles and cisplatinloaded on PBCA nanoparticles were measured 373 nm, 0.429, -28 mV and 373 nm, 0.429 and -28 mV, respectively. Theencapsulation and drug loading efficiency were determined 25% and 5%, respectively. The results of drug release patternshowed that the amount of released drug was 3.18% after 51 hours. The results demonstrated that tissue damage in liverof cisplatin loaded on PBCA receiver group was lowered than that of standard cisplatin receiver group.
