Abstract:

Cisplatin is one of the most chemotherapy agents which used in human and veterinary medicine. Despite itssignificant anti-cancer activity, the clinical use of cisplatin often limited by its undesirable side effect such asnephroxicity. Drug delivery systems can help us to decrease these side effects. PBCA is one of the appropriatenanocarriers because of its small size, simplicity of synthesize, purification and scale up. In this study, blood urea andcreatinine levels were investigated. Cisplatin loaded on PBCA nanoparticles was prepared by miniemulsionpolymerization method. The mean diameter, size distribution and zeta potential of cisplatin loaded on PBCAnanoparticles was measured 489.3 nm, 0.429 and -20 mV. The encapsulation and drug loading efficiency weredetermined 25% and 5%, respectively. Release studies illustrated high retention capability of nanodrug in a period of 51h. The results of in vivo study showed that the group which received standard drug had higher blood urea and creatininelevel.
