Abstract:

One of the most common catalysts used in MTO (methanol to olefin) process is SAPO‐34 molecular sieves, due to its small pore size and proper acidic strength. There are several efforts to optimize catalyst performance becauseof its rapid deactivation. One way of improving the performance of this catalyst is that reduce particle size to nanoscale. Also, the most important factor in the hydrothermal synthesis of SAPO‐34 catalyst is templates. Use of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as a hard template in synthesis of SAPO‐34 is considered to be an effective solution which could enhanceperformance of this catalyst. It has been shown that, using CNT template leads to the crystallinity increase and sizereduction.
