Abstract:

In the present work, the effect of active phase composition on the oxidative dehydrogenationon (ODH) ofethane has been investigated. For this purpose Li/MgO catalysts were prepared via combustion method and relatedsamples were characterized by several techniques including XRD and FESEM.XRD patterns indicate the homogenousdispersion of Li2O into MgO. The FESEM images imply the porous structure of all prepared catalysis and an increasein the size of particle at high loading of active phase. Catalytic activity tests of ODH of ethane were carried out in thepresence of O2 and CO2 as oxidant with the ratio of O2, CO2 and ethane 2.5:5: 1. The Li/MgO with 3% Li loadingshowed the highest activity to ethane ODH at all temperatures also the ethane conversion, ethylene yield and selectivityremained unchanged on this samples remain during 10 hr
